ADU CASE STUDIES

THE PROJECT’S DISADVANTAGE BECAME THE DESIGN MAJOR ADVANTAGE. THROUGH A SMALL LOT THE DESIGN HAD TO BE APPROACH IN A WAY THAT MAXIMIZED THE ROOM SIZES YET ALLOCATE SHARED PUBLIC PROGRAM IN A WAY THAT HARMONIZED WITH THE REST OF THE PROJECT. WITH THE SMALLER LOT THE PROJECT LENT ITSELF TO HAVE LARGER OPEN SHARED SPACES WHILE ALLOCATING LARGE BEDROOMS FOR THE USERS, WHILE NOT LOSING ANY LIGHT AND AIR FLOW INTO THE BUILDING, CONRATRY THE DESIGN ALLOW TO INCREASE THESE ELEMENTS. THE ONE FEATURE THAT WAS ELEVATED BY THE SMALLER LOT WAS THE ABILITY TO HAVE PRIVATE ROOF DECKS ALLOWING EACH UNIT TO FEEL SEPERATED EVEN WHEN THE BUILDINGS ARE NOT.
